Triggers are the starting point of every automation journey in Geta.ai. They detect specific events or data updates and automatically set your workflows in motion. Whether it's a user signing up, a contact being updated, or a date hitting the calendar — triggers help you respond instantly, without lifting a finger.


🚀 What Is a Trigger in Geta.ai?

A Trigger is an event-based rule that begins an automation journey. Once a contact meets the defined criteria, the workflow starts — activating conditions and actions you've set.

Think of triggers as the "if this happens" part of your automation logic.


🔍 Where to Find Triggers

  1. Navigate to the Automation module from the sidebar.

  2. Click Create Automation or edit an existing journey.

  3. The first block in every journey is Trigger — click to choose your trigger type.


🔁 Types of Triggers You Can Use

1️⃣ Contact Created

📌 When it fires: A new contact is added to your system.
✅ Use Case: Send a welcome email or WhatsApp message immediately after signup.


2️⃣ Contact Updated

6️⃣ Added to Segment

📌 When it fires: A contact enters a dynamic segment.

7️⃣ Date Field Match 🗓️

📌 When it fires: A contact’s date field matches a set rule.
✅ Setup:

  • Choose fields like Birthdate, Signup Date, or Anniversary

  • Select execution cycle: Once or Yearly

  • Choose logic: On, Before, or After the date

  • Add time and number of days
