What Are Auto-Replies or Fallback Messages?

Auto-replies (fallback messages) are preset responses that the bot sends when it doesn’t understand a user’s query. This ensures a smoother experience by guiding users toward relevant information.

Steps to Set Auto-Replies in a Bot

Navigate to the Bot Builder

  1. Log in to your Geta.ai dashboard.
  2. Go to the Bot Builder module.
  3. Select the bot you want to edit (Web Bot, WhatsApp Bot, etc.).

Enable Auto-Replies

  1. Move to the Settings section.
  2. Click on Auto-Replies to configure fallback messages.
  3. Enter a response in the auto-reply field, such as:
"Oops! I didn’t understand that. Please try rephrasing or selecting an option."

Save the Changes

  1. Click Save to activate the fallback message.

Next Steps

Test the Auto-Reply – Enter an unrecognized query to ensure the bot responds correctly.
Customize for Better Engagement – Use a friendly tone that aligns with your brand.
Improve Bot Knowledge – Regularly update FAQs and bot responses to minimize fallback messages.

By setting up auto-replies, your bot can handle unknown queries more effectively, improving user experience on Geta.ai.
