How to Configure Speech Settings for Simple Voice Bot

The Speech Settings section allows you to control how your Simple Voice Bot speaks, responds, waits, and handles silence during a call. These settings help fine-tune the bot’s conversational behavior for a smoother calling experience.

Where to Find Speech Settings

  1. Log in to your Geta.ai account.

  2. Navigate to Bot Builder from the left menu.

  3. Select your Voice Bot (e.g., Voice Assistant).

  4. Under Agent Setup, click on Speech settings.

The Speech Settings configuration panel will now open.

Configure Speech Settings

1. Adjust Speech Pace (Slider)

At the top, you’ll see a speech pace slider.

  • Drag the slider left or right to adjust how fast or slow the bot speaks.

  • Higher values make the bot sound quicker.

  • Lower values make the bot speak more slowly and clearly.

Choose a pace that suits your audience.

2. Set Response Rate

The Response Rate defines how quickly the bot responds after the user speaks.

Available options:

  • Normal – Balanced response timing (recommended for most use cases)

  • Patient – Adds extra wait time before responding

  • Rapid – Faster responses with minimal delay

Select the option that best fits your call flow.

3. Enable “Check if User is Online”

Turn on the Check if user is online toggle to handle silence during calls.

When enabled:

  • The agent checks if the user is still present when there is no response.

  • This helps avoid abrupt call disconnections.

4. Configure “User Is Online” Message

In the User is online message field, enter a prompt the bot should say if the user is silent.

Example:

“Hello! I’m still on the line. Please let me know if you can hear me.”

This message reassures the user and encourages them to respond.

5. Set Invoke Message Delay

Use Invoke message after (seconds) to control how long the bot waits before speaking again.

  • Drag the slider to set the delay (in seconds).

  • Example: Setting it to 5 means the bot will wait 5 seconds before invoking the next message.

6. Add Keywords

In the Add keywords section, define trigger words that help the bot understand user intent.

Examples:

  • help

  • support

  • information

Type a keyword and press Enter to add it. You can add multiple keywords.

7. Save Changes

Once all configurations are complete:

  • Click Save Changes at the top of the page.

  • Your updated speech settings will be applied to the Simple Voice Bot.

âś… Final Notes

  • Speech settings directly affect call flow and user experience.

  • Start with Normal response rate and adjust based on real call behavior.

  • Always save changes before exiting the page.

Your Simple Voice Bot is now optimized for smoother and more natural conversations 🚀
